When we implement larger event formats and special ideas, especially when spending particularly heavily, our usual concepts based on donations or cost-covering admission fees do not apply. Event formats such as Glacis Open Air or THE INSEL Festival therefore require subsidies. Even if we want to continue our education as an association, we apply for grants. For us as a non-profit association, research, document preparation, application and billing tie up enormous capacities. We are therefore pleased with unbureaucratic and digital processes.
Who doesn't know the good old hat box office? From the outset, we owe her a reliable source to make even small events possible. These voluntary cash benefits — whether physical or digital — were exclusively for artists and bands. Crowdfunding campaigns have also been helpful so far in acquiring collective donations. From time to time, we also get very creative ourselves to provide fundraising incentives. Be it through homemade rewards, interactive formats and events, or simply through donation boxes and appeals. For us, every cent counts, because even if we don't organise events, there are basic monthly costs for warehouse rent, contributions, insurance, etc. We are also happy to receive donations in kind: Whether vans or candy bars for catering, anything can be helpful.
